Not only were the erudite compilers of that work repeating a common fallacy when saying George Walker was editor of the chess column in The Lancet, that was not even the first column in a periodical because it was preceded by one in The Kaleidoscope conducted by Egerton Smith of Liverpool.

The birth date stated for Walker is possibly incorrect too and the short Wikipedia article linked to is also in need of correction.
