It is a pity she can not devote herself to more playing. She has been known to complain about having to play her fellow female campaigners (” .. we share our secrets “) and the pairings in Swisses, not just her own, even with minutes before the starting whistle. Her (2003) Batsford book ‘Your Chess Questions Answered’ portrayed a somewhat naive approach but helpful and practical advice. It deserves an update please. A disciplined woman and, in her youth, something of a sportswoman. But, I happily repeat, I wish she’d return and play.
