Over a liquorice paper wrapped Hamlet cigar or three, he could regale you for hours with his wonderful reminiscences. He was an incredible orator, and a kind man. I remember B H Wood referring to it once in an answer to a reader’s letter, and was beginning to think I’d got the wrong man, or imagined it altogether! (B H also said Morry used an earphone, a practice that would attract a lot of dubious frowns nowadays.)
